Fiddler on the Roof

Last night we had the pleasure of taking in the performance of Topol in Fiddler on the Roof at the Capitol Theatre. To be honest, i didn't really know anything about this show (or that it was a movie), however i was lured into purchasing tickets based on the fact that i had heard of it before! They were good tickets too, only 4 rows from the front, and i am happy to report that we both enjoyed the show immensely.

Next week i'm heading back to Melbourne to clean up our demonstration. It's not the best timing, given that we have to move home soon, but i am thankful it was brought forward a week from the original forecast. Hmm, the AFL season is over, what else will there be to do?

Birds Talk To Me

We enjoyed a lovely weekend away at Fitzroy Falls in the Southern Highlands. Kerri made the great choice of selecting Twin Falls Bush Cottages for our stay. Our cabin was fully self-contained with kitchen, bathroom, and wooden fireplace, located amongst the trees of the bush, and within minutes walk of Fitzroy and Twin Falls. It was also the scene of the Start and Finish of the Fitzroy Falls Fire Trail Marathon and 10km Fun Run on Saturday morning. Kerri only had to slide out of bed, throw on some shoes and stumble up to the start line. She was much too professional for that nonsense though, so was out of bed an hour early to register and observe the marathon runners get under way at 8am. I was a good boyfriend and managed to make it out of bed in time for the 10km start, and was given photographer duties. I thought i was doing a pretty good job, but messed up by completely missing Kerri's surge towards the finish! She attracted my attention at the last moment, and considered stopping while i fired up the Canon, but thought better of it. Nevermind, i don't hold high hopes that Kerri will update her blog with the piccies anyway :-) Later in the day we went for a leisurely bush walk over Fitzroy Falls and deep into the bush, and were in awe of the amazing wildlife and fauna on display.

On the Sunday we stopped by the Bradman Museum in Bowral. Despite the cold weather and intermittent rain, the local teams were strutting their stuff out on the oval. Would have been great to relax in the pavilion and take in the game, had it been a little warmer. The museum itself was most impressive - i didn't realise what a long and rich history the game of cricket has to offer. The most memorable part of the exhibit was the real 30's/40's news reel footage which was on display in a mini-movie theatre. It made me wonder what it would have been like growing up during this time in our history. If you're in the area and at least moderately interested in cricket, i would definitely recommend you spend a couple of hours to take a look.

I just wish the weekend went a little longer :-)

We'll Breathe In The View

As expected, we received a termination notice today for the lease of the apartment, informing us that we need to vacate by 11/11, exactly one month from today. We'll try to enjoy our remaining time here, and maybe hold our breaths while we look for something new!

Iced Windowsill

Iced Windowsill pimped up her Mazda 3 over the weekend - installing a mod to add a line-in input to her stereo system. Will be very useful on long trips, allowing us to enjoy our various podcasts and music on our iPaq's or iPod's. Was a bit of effort, but all went well despite the attention we were getting from the German Paparazzi in the back seat :-)

Had a nice BBQ with the Mosses and the HoNi's at the Moss Mansion. The HoNi's are into their final week of their holiday before returning home, or should i say leaving home! It's been great having them around again.

Yesterday was a veg-out sports day, watching Bathurst, the Cricket and finally the Football friendly between the Socceroos and Jamaica. Looking forward to playing a bit of sport myself! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Summer Time?

Kerri and i enjoyed a lovely bbq at my sisters place in Penrith. They have been renovating and i must say the place is really looking good. The unusually hot weather seemed to tire out the dogs, which was probably a good thing as i'm not the most comfortable around them! What is with the weather anyway? It seems we skipped a season. Today was a good deal cooler, and i had a really enjoyable soccer game at lunch, however tomorrow is supposed to be another warm one.

Well done to the Tigers, was a well deserved win. They have been on fire lately. What a strange season of rugby league. This evening up of the competition might take a bit of time to get used to.

Kerri and I are having our own little long weekend in a couple of weeks time. We'll be staying down at Fitzroy Falls - looking forward to it!

Feline Frenzy

Kerri and I are all dressed up in orange for this evenings big clash between Wests Tigers and those gunslingers from the north. Heading out to the Moss Mansion for a lamb roast before we settle down with Michelle and the HoNi's for the big game. Go Tig's!!!
